Inkoom revels in Bastia 4-0 romp of Brest

Defender Samuel Inkoom is reveling in his output for French side Bastia in their 4-0 trouncing on Brest last Saturday.

Bastia earned their fourth win in five matches in the Ligue 1, courtesy the emphatic win over the relegation-bound Brest in the 31 st week fixture at the Stade Armand Cesari.

Inkoom replaced Frenchman Gilles Cioni on 61 minutes and played an integral role as Les Blues scored two more goals, to wrap up victory and move to 12th position on the 20-club league log.

The 23-year old told GNA Sports in a telephone chat from his Bastia based “I’m very happy with my performance. It was a difficult game but we managed to win 4-0.”

The former national youth star on loan from Ukrainian side Dnipro is eyeing a regular place in the Bastia team with nine matches remaining.

“I’m very hopeful of breaking into the first team anytime soon. My performance has improved after each match. It was difficult in the beginning but I’m gradually getting better.”

Inkoom, who was left out of the Black Stars squad for the Africa Cup of Nations due to inactivity at his former club, Dnipro believes his regular outings for Bastia will serve a catalyst for his return to the national team.

The right-back joined Bastia on loan from Dnipro during the winter transfer.
