Dr. K.K SARPONG  blasts 'SSS graduates' Ghanaian media for trying to make his administration unpopular.

By Patrick Akoto

Under-fire Kotoko chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong has launched a stinging attack on the Ghanaian media, branding them as ‘Senior High School graduates’ who lack the knowledge and understanding of his administrative style.

The former Tema Oil Refinery Chief Executive has come under heavy fire in the past few days following Kotoko’s exit from the CAF Champions League.

The Ghanaian champions lost out on the away-goals rule after drawing 1-1 at home to Algerian side JSM Bejaia.

Their exit from the Africa’s elite-inter club competition has angered most of their supporters who have largely blamed Dr Sarpong for their woes.

Unhappy Kotoko supporters have hit hard at the Executive Chairman for his selling policy which has seen as many as five key players leave the club.

Critics argued that it was unwise for any serious club, determined to win the continental title to sell its prize assets and yet expects to win silverware.

But Dr Sarpong has characteristically turned his vitriolic attack on the Ghanaian media accusing them of creating stories in a bid to make his administration unpopular.

“Those SSS graduate journalists who do not understand the issues needs proper education,” Sarpong fumed on Oman FM

“You have a radio station which does not go beyond Kejetia and you think you can sit on it and talk nonsense.

“You need revenue to meet your expenses. There is no Father Christmas anywhere and so some your people must understand the issue before they spew garbage on the airwaves.

Dr Sarpong is not new in courting controversies after he branded Kotoko supporters who questioned his administrative style as ‘illiterates’.

His latest outburst will surely incur the wrath of journalists in the country as pressure continues to mount on him to resign his position.

Sarpong’s perceived arrogance and larger than-life attitude is beginning to rill Kotoko supporters who could stage a massive coup d’état against him.
