Ashanti Gold Crushed Down Hearts of Oak 2 -1                        

       
 



 Ashanti Gold on Sunday crashed down Hearts of Oak's fine start to the second run of the Glo Premier League at the Len Clay Stadium where they won 2-1 .

The Phobians are now a step above the bottom three as they have a four-point advantage over the 14th-placed team, Tema Youth, who have a game in hand.

Mohammed Yakubu opened the scoring, beating goalkeeper Tetteh Lugard from a spot kick after AshantiGold were awarded a penalty.

But Mahatma Otoo drew Hearts level after 19 minutes when he scored the eqiualiser. A goal which takes him to joint-top in the scorers chart.

After recess, the Miners continued to push for the lead and 11 minutes into the restart, Alhaji Sani scored to make it 2-1 for AshantiGold.

The win sends the Miners to sixth on the standings and closer to the top-four.
