Adele Named Richest Young Musician

Adele has been named the UK’s richest young musician, with a fortune of £30 million.

The singer has topped the list of music millionaires under the age of 30, in the latest edition of the annual Sunday Times Rich List.
In second place was fellow Vogue cover girl Cheryl Cole, with a £14 million fortune, closely followed by Leona Lewis and Katie Melua, worth an estimated £12 million each.
This year’s list also marked the first appearance of the five One Direction boys, who are each worth an impressive £5 million – or £25 million combined.
The news marks a particularly momentous year for Adele, who welcomed her first child with partner Simon Konecki, and won an Oscar for her theme tune to the latest James Bond thriller, Skyfall. Her album, 21, was the best-selling album in the world for the second year in a row in 2012.
Sir Paul McCartney was named the UK and Ireland’s richest musician overall, with a fortune of £680 million, closely followed by Andrew Lloyd Webber (£620m), the members of U2 (£520m), and Sir Elton John (£240m).
