Photos: Silver 97.5, new FM station, hits air waves
THE RAY CHARLES BLOG- At long last “Joe Laka's medium,” will be available to listeners of SILVER 97.5, a new FM radio station in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The station, which is owned by Mr. Sylvester Owusu,, a celebrated former Asante Kotoko chairman, incorporated several months ago, made a “soft start-up” about two hours ago “to make sure everything plays well,” a usual practice when a new station hit the air waves.
A source at the station told Ray Charles in a phone conversation- “The quality of the station is really, really very good; the technical, the audio quality(we are working on that) and the programming,” he said. “We will try to provide a first-class station for the Ashanti listening area.”
Silver 97.5 Fm's coverage area will include parts of the Brong-Ahafo and Eastern Region. The station currently plays music from the 1980s and 1990s along with some tunes from the 1970s and some of today’s hits. Now, Silver 97.5 Fm is ready to claim its audience.
