Muhammad Ali ‘stable’ after being readmitted to hospital

Three-times former heavyweight world champion Muhammad Ali has been readmitted to hospital for treatment for a urinary tract infection.

Family spokesman Bob Gunnell said Ali, 72, was in a stable condition in an undisclosed hospital and was expected to be released on Friday.

Gunnell added: “There were further issues with the earlier diagnosis of a urinary tract infection.”
Ali was released from hospital earlier this month following a two-week stay.

The American retired from boxing in 1981 before being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1984.
