NEWS - ONE reported on April 24th 2013, the Despite Group of Companies, operators of the newly established Asomdwe 100.9 Fm, has put on offer a jaw-dropping amount of $1 million to poach a morning show host for the station.
The story went on saying initial amount was said to be something near a $100,000, but the total package was been raised to $1million and that this was to ensure the station got a host good enough to attract more listeners than Kwame Sefa Kayi, the host of the Peace Fm’s ‘Kokrokoo’ morning show.
NEWS-ONE reported they heard that some of the possible names on the radar of the Asomdwe FM morning show host search team were Alvin Yaw Adu Boakye aka ‘Omanhene’; morning show host of Kessben FM in Kumasi, Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah; morning show host of Agoo 103.5 fm in Accra, Adakabre Frimpong Manso; morning show host of Adom 106.3 fm in Accra and the controversial Captain Smart of Fox 97.9 Fm in Kumasi.
The story circulating the rumor Captain Smart might quit fox fm was further pursued on Facebook messaging where Captain Smart told Ray Charles Kick show the rumor of moving to any radio station in baseless and nonfactual urging his listerners and fans to calm down.
Currently He is at his present post ensuring his listerners are well educated and inform.
