Teko Modise’s ex-wife, fiancée to co-star in reality show

Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns star Teko Modise’s former wife and his fiancée are set to appear together on a reality show about soccer players’ partners, this according to a report by City Press.
The Wags – wives and girlfriends – of soccer players have become almost as famous as their ball-booting partners in the UK and Europe.

Industry insiders have told City Press that M-Net is preparing to launch a show in April called Diski Divas, which will track the lives of local Wags.

“In the show, viewers will witness the wives and girlfriends of soccer players shopping for items such as Chanel bags and Louis Vuitton shoes,” two sources in the TV industry, and with knowledge of the project, told City Press.

“The viewers will also get an opportunity to meet the cast’s children for the first time,” said one source.

Modise’s ex-wife Felicia and his fiancée, Lizelle Tabane, have already been cast.

“Imagine Felicia and Lizelle on the same show. There’s going to be nothing but drama and betrayal,” said one source.

Felicia Modise confirmed she had been approached by the production house, but would not divulge further details.

“The production is still in the early stages – they are still in talks with the cast. The cast hasn’t signed any contracts, but by the looks of things, this is going to be great television content for South Africa,” said one source.

M-Net had not responded to requests for comment at the time of going to press.
Former Bafana Bafana defender Matthew Booth’s wife, entrepreneur Sonia Booth, was also approached to be part of the new show.

“I haven’t met the production team as yet. I’m seeing producers soon,” she said.
“I haven’t decided whether I want to be involved in it or not. But if the show is allied with my goals, I would definitely consider it.”

She said she was not a big fan of reality shows, but believed South Africa was ready for a new, refreshing show like Diski Divas.

Booth is busy promoting her book, How to Reinvent Yourself and Stay Relevant.
“I don’t want to be known only as Matthew’s wife,” she said.
