Deadly Facebook  :  3-Year-Old Drowns While Being Watched By Babysitter Too Busy Browsing Facebook A 3-year-old girl drowned a few feet from the Dallas woman who was supposed to watch her — while she allegedly browsed Facebook. Kariasa Thomas, 37, was charged with reckless injury to a child Wednesday, authorities said. The tragedy occurred at Thomas’ apartment complex pool where she and her legally blind husband brought her daughter, 16, and four of her friend’s children, ages 3, 5, 6 and 7. Thomas only let the toddler, Kanyce Giddings, stand on the steps leading into the water because the girl did not know how to swim, according to the arrest affidavit.
